Kato Paphos – Archaeological Park in Paphos, Cyprus

We visited the ancient necropolis of the Tombs of the Kings – one of the most attractive places in the Paphos area and one of the most important archaeological sites in Cyprus🤩 This place was included on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List (together with the entire city of Kato Paphos) in 1980. In the Kato Paphos archaeological park we also admired mosaics that were created between the 3rd and 5th centuries as floor decorations in the villas of wealthy residents. They are considered one of the most beautiful in the Mediterranean countries The most important and best-preserved mosaics are covered with a roof, and you can still walk around some of them, feeling like the former inhabitants of Cyprus😍 It is worth emphasizing that Polish workers played and still play a very important role in the work in this area archaeologists🇵🇱, involved in, among others, in the discovery of one of the ancient villas with mosaics – the Villa of Theseus.
